Heal Your Soul with Yin Yoga, Meditation, and Journaling
We are spiritual beings having a human experience. That experience, however, can be long, painful, and tiring. But it doesn't have to be that way — and it shouldn't.
Is it possible to find inner peace and calm amidst external fire, like the Prophet Ibrahim?
It is!
It takes practice, the redirection of energy, and diving inward. Essentially, we are everlasting souls — and souls are nothing but light. That is the goal: to be light, both in luminosity and in weight. It is learning to let go, to empty the mind and the self.
The body is just a vessel that decays with time, yet we spend hours and money trying to perfect it. How much time are we investing in nourishing and purifying the heart and soul, which will last forever?
When Adam was created, his body was lifeless, an empty vessel. It wasn’t until God breathed into him from His own spirit that Adam came alive. Perhaps one understanding of this is that we humans have the ability to tap into the beautiful qualities of God Himself: practicing generosity, compassion, justice, peace, healing, removing burdens from others, and so much more. This awakening happens through mastering your own breath and learning to breathe on a deep level.
When you meditate, you quiet the mind. And when the mind is still, the eyes of your heart open. Why else did the Prophet Muhammad (peace and blessings be upon him) spend so much time in a cave, meditating?
"Yoga" means to connect the self with the Divine. When we are void of this connection, we feel incomplete. Empty. Reconnecting with the spirit of God and finding inner peace and harmony is simple. God is closer to us than our jugular vein. When we connect to Him, we begin to feel whole, light, and peaceful.
Yin yoga helps you open the heart and body, releasing the deepest issues from within your tissues.
A journal can be a refuge, helping you discover who you are and let go of painful experiences. It also allows you to process what is happening. Journaling frees the mind just like sweating detoxes the body. In addition to process writing, you can also learn the art of vision journaling, which pulls you into the space you aspire to be in.
Find that peaceful heart — privately or with a supportive community — and reconnect with the Benevolent Creator. Throughout this journey, you will take your experiences, both positive and negative, and find a way to turn them into beauty and wisdom.
We all have a story. When we dare to be vulnerable and share our struggles, we realize that we are not alone.
Difficult experiences from the past or present can leave an impact on how we behave. This workshop is unique because it combines yoga, meditation, and journaling to help you heal, find balance, still the mind, and return to that peaceful heart.
